Jun Ma is joining the People's Bank of China as chief economist in its research bureau after spending 13 years with Deutsche Bank, according to an internal memo at the German bank seen by FinanceAsia.
Ma was Deutsche Bank's chief economist for Greater China and head of China and Hong Kong strategy and was widely known for his bullish outlook on China.
In a Special Report’ on China dated January Ma wrote “2014 will mark the beginning of a series of growth-enhancing structural reforms and should witness a cyclical economic recovery.”
