Goldman Sachs economist joins BRICs growth story

Goldman Sachs global economist jumps ship and lands at India's Future Group.
Roopa Purushothaman, economist and member of the global research team covering worldwide thematic issues at Goldman Sachs is joining India's Future Group. This is the entity through which IndiaÆs largest retail chain, Pantaloon, is spearheading its foray into the financial services space.

Purushothaman will be head of economics and strategy for the group and will combine an understanding of economics, anthropology and scenario planning to look at the evolving consumer trends and preferences for the group as a whole and specifically for the investment vehicle, Future Capital Holdings.
